08/07/2010 - National Mustard Day & Championship Tourney - S&S #10 - Our Spring & Summer championship event at Pecan Field (hopeful). We'll have 2 rounds of golf and a FREE hotdog lunch between the rounds (with MUSTARD, all the fixins, drinks and chips & dips) for all players. $5 or $10 buy-in ($4 club; $1 ace pool; $5 plastic; plastic fee is optional). Both scores count toward your series points total.
08/21/2010 - North Wilkesboro Ace Race - Canceled due to course not likely being complete.
The North Wilkesboro Course - Highland Hills - will very likely open during the fall of 2010. The course has been under construction since the spring of 2010 and will continue until things are deemed "as close to perfect as possible". Currently, we have several projects to complete. Including;
- Trimming out several more tees; currently 4 to go
- Give a final mowing/weed eating to 7 fairways
- Add steps to 9 different holes to make for easier transitions
- Install a metal stairway
- Remove stumps, stobbs and tripping hazards from all holes
- Install the final three anchors; the "special" targets
- Install a special surprise on #14
- Polesaw as needed around the course
- Install benches on all holes (yes, a bench on every hole)
- Cut a trail between #13 & #14
- Clear brush around entire course
- Work with BMCC to cut trails on #4, #7 and elsewhere
- Install tee signs and trash cans
- Level all tee areas
- Remidy run-off issues that are pre-existing
- Install bag hooks on every white tee
As you can see, there are many things to do, but there is so much already completed that we are getting very, very excited about our iminate opening!!
We will soon schedule our grand opening even and hope you will be able to make it out. Membership renewals occur during June & July of 2010.

Welcome to the Wilkes County Disc Golf Club!
 The Wilkes County Disc Golf Club was formed in 2009 in hopes to bring disc golf to the Wilkesboros of North Carolina (Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro, NC). Our goal is to build one or multiple disc golf courses in Wilkes County - either on public parks (county, state or federally owned land), privately owned property, donated acreage or a combination of any.
 Disc golf is an affordable means of excercise and can be enjoyed by players of any age. With the current economy of 2009 & 2010, we feel that Wilkes county can greatly benefit from an affordable past-time and the added traffic that disc golf courses can provide. Statistics show that disc-golfers will drive well over 25 miles to play at a new or favorite course. From central Wilkes County, it is just over 25 miles to either Ashe County Park or Yadkin County Park — both of which have established courses. Boone doesn't currently have a course, so a North Wilkesboro based course would also be an easy drive for disc golfers from ASU (Appalachian State University). The foothills of North Carolina offers an ideal setting for disc golf with its rolling hills and beautiful forests.
